Tarnished Tapes, Site Refresh, Relevance & Return

Good morning to all of my avid followers and readers. I rarely break the fourth wall and pop out from my regularly scheduled programming to address you directly, but I wanted to thank you for bearing with me while the site’s platform has been undergoing some upgrades this summer. On the surface, there’s nothing to notice, but behind the scenes, we’ve remedied more than a few infrastructure-related issues. It’s like an oil change on a car. Or a regularly scheduled visit to the dentist. We don’t want to do it, but we must. So, after a short hiatus, I shall gather the strength and return to this publication. Hopefully, you didn’t even notice this brief pause or my absence. Separately, and perhaps somewhat related, I think I’m giving up on all the social networks. This is not an announcement of my “glorious exit” but more of a memo that if you want to keep up with the latest music I share, your best bet is to subscribe to the newsletter that goes out with each post. I also wanted to use this moment to share with you the interview with yours truly, published by the iir-berlin.com for the Relevance & Return column in which Martin Eugen Raabenstein and I talk about legacy, inheritance, heritage and “what remains at the end of the day“. It was an intriguing chat outside of your ‘normal’ HC affair. Finally, if you want a bit of accompaniment for your reading, you can listen to my new single, Tarnished Tapes, which is currently streaming on all your favourite digital platforms and Bandcamp. I’ve got more music to share with you soon!
