Ben Chatwin‘s Drone Signals may have come out almost a year ago, but I am still listening to his music. Actually, I am also pretty excited at the opportunity to attend his live performance, here in London (more on that in a bit), and today, besides revisiting his catalogue, I’m happy to share with you this exclusive video for a piece from the album. The music video was produced by Tatsuya Fujimoto who’s been credited for his visuals for ConstantineRyo Murakami, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. This is a slow-panning visceral and mesmerising piece, which may accidentally evoke some emotions you’ve been successfully suppressing… until now. So here it is! Play it on full screen, of course, and don’t forget to hear the entire album!

I expressed gaze, light and darkness, sparkle through the microscope in this video.

– Tatsuya Fujimoto

Now back to that live performance I mentioned above! It’s actually part of a larger event, taking place on Thursday, July 25th, hosted by London’s Southbank Centre and Village Green. Besides Ben Chatwin, the evening also features performances by CUTS and Snow Palms with the lighting design by Icarus. The event is titled IMMERSION and promises to be an evening of “expansive music and visuals” showcasing some of the label’s output. I’ve got a flyer for you here. See you there!
