I noticed that I usually publish one or two of these OUT TODAY columns per month unless I’m out on vacation. That being said, August seemed a little bit quiet. I suppose musicians and record label owners need a vacation, too. Then, suddenly, September was here, and I had a mailbox exploding with music. Today, I’m happy to share with you some albums that have come across my radar. These span a variety of genres, from modular synthesis to solo piano to wide ambient soundscapes to post-rock and even bangin’ techno, plus a soundtrack or two. Let me know if you’ve missed any of these and are happy to discover them here. But first, let’s kick off with a video from Peter Broderick & Ensemble 0 interpreting a newly discovered and previously unreleased piece from Arthur Russel’s Tower of Meaning.
