1969 was a packed year. And they weren’t under lockdown! In fact, it took me exactly this full cursed year of 2020 to go through every single album appearing on the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die list, at a rate of about one album every few weeks or so (38 in total) to listen, read about, listen again, write a short blurb, and finally pick my top 10 favorites. And so, here they are, in alphabetical order by artist, my favorites of 1969, which I ended up purchasing on vinyl for that “authentic” experience. And as we may roll into another unknown of 2021, at least the past rolls into the music of the 70s. I think I’ll stay there instead…
