It’s honestly difficult to accept that another year has gone by of this. The scary bit is that I think we’re all getting a bit used to the new now and if the other future ever comes, how will it compare and contrast against this one? Yes, they’re slightly darker thoughts, in slightly darker mood, with slightly darker image. But in the end, we still are here, and we’ve got all this music, of which was plenty in the year. So in the last couple of weeks, I’ve carefully sifted through my favourites, and am now happy to present you with my annual thematic lists. Welcome to the 14th, edition of Headphone Commute’s Best of the Year selections! As usual, the format is the same – I’m honouring only full-length albums [so no EPs or compilations, sorry], sticking to the ones released in 2021 [so no re-issues], and covered in each list in alphabetical order by artist [so no ones is #1]. We’ve got a lot to celebrate and share with the world, so let’s get to it!
